Who we are

Zenlingo is operated by Ricardo Gusman Brandão (individual developer).

What we collect

  • Account. The identifier and details that Sign in with Apple provides, managed through our authentication service (Supabase Auth).
  • Photos. The photo you choose is sent to OpenAI to create a lesson. We store a reduced copy of the photo in Supabase with your collection. We do not keep original-resolution photos. Your originals stay in your photo library.
  • Lessons and practice. The lessons, expressions, questions and answers that the app saves. Your latest completed full-lesson result is stored only on your iPhone.
  • Settings. Your chosen English level.
  • Purchases. Subscription status, handled through Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your payment card details.
  • Audio. Pronunciation audio for each word and expression. [Audio provider: pending owner decision.]

Zenlingo does not record your voice, use speech recognition or score pronunciation.

How we use this information

To create lessons from your photos, save and sync your collection, check your access, show your results, and respond to support requests.

How long we keep data

  • While your account is active, your collection stays in the cloud.
  • After your access ends, we keep your cloud collection for 90 days. Renewing within that time restores access to it. After 90 days we delete it.
  • If you delete your account, we block it immediately and delete your account and learning data from active systems within seven days. There is no recovery period.
  • Backups are kept isolated until they expire. [Exact backup retention: pending legal review.]
  • Lessons and results stored on your iPhone are removed when you delete a lesson, sign out or delete your account.
  • Free-lesson marker. Account deletion previously kept a one-way marker: an HMAC-SHA256 keyed hash of your Apple account identifier, made with a secret server key. It held no Apple ID, name or email, and it was no longer linked to your account. It also kept the request keys tried and the delivery time. Its only purpose was to stop the free first lesson from being claimed twice. We removed it on 2026-10-20 when the free lesson was retired, and we no longer keep it. [Draft, pending legal review.]

Your choices

You can delete a lesson in the app, or delete your account from Account. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your Apple subscription settings.
